Community, Social Care, Hospitals & Hospices
North Staffordshire Press & Academics partners with community groups, charities, social care organisations, hospitals, and hospices to deliver meaningful writing workshops across Newcastle-under-Lyme, The Potteries, and Staffordshire. These sessions use creativity to foster connection, reflection, and wellbeing in supportive environments.
Who We Work With
- Community groups: local writing circles, heritage projects, intergenerational activities.
- Social care settings: activities for residents in care homes, carers’ groups, and support services.
- Hospitals & hospices: therapeutic writing for patients, families, and healthcare staff.
What Our Sessions Include
- Gentle writing prompts designed for all abilities
- Opportunities to share experiences and build community
- Creative outlets that support mental and emotional wellbeing
- Flexible length: from one-hour tasters to longer programmes
Our Approach
We create safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental spaces where writing becomes a tool for empowerment and connection. Facilitators are experienced in working with diverse groups and adapt activities for age, ability, and setting.
